Big Black Dog: It's time for Pink Saturday

It's time for Pink Saturday

This will be a quiet Pink Saturday with 1 gorgeous dinner and one super gorgeous cake carrier! Sorry I don't have more pink for you but I burned my hand on the grill Friday while experimenting baking bread outside. The bread turned out fabulously but I can only type a very slow one-handed hunt and peck for a few days.

I made a scrumptious dinner the other night, Filet Mignon with Blackberries. It was just delicious! Notice the gorgeous medium rare pink of a perfectly cooked Rib Eye steak. I did not think the dish was going to be quite so good otherwise I would have bought a bottle of wine too! It's a very easy recipe and went together rather quickly too. Please click here if you'd like to copy the recipe.

I rarely ever make layered cakes but I sure have a gorgeous cake carrier whenever I do! I bought this beauty during a particular bad week during our renovation project. Every once in a while I had to reward myself with something spectacular. I knew the minute I saw this on Ebay it had to be mine.

That cake carrier is gorgeous! Now I am looking at my trusty, beaten-up Tupperware and wondering if I can turn that frog into something fun...now that is a challenge!

I prefer the steak to the cake but I had to laugh when I saw the carrier as I thought it was the decorated cake.
Wowza this lady is good cake decorator even with one hand I thought.

Ouch! I hate burns. Take it easy on yourself.

You always make me want to come to your house. The dinner looks delicious.

Now, about that cake carrier. I think it is the prettiest one I've ever seen. You know, yellow is my favorite color.

Happy Pink Saturday, Michelle.

The filet mignon looks absolutely perfect - and I'd kill for a cake carrier like that one! Congratulations on your beating everyone else off and winning it on eBay.

Happy Pink Saturday, and Happy Independence Day as well (I hadn't realised....) Celebrations all round!

Lovely Post. I guess the pink would be your burnt hand this week. You should have taken pics of your bandage. I am going to try this recipe, sounds so delish. I have signed up to follow your BLOG. I hope you will pop over and do the same, and maybe I can inspire you in some small way. COuntry Hugs, Sherry

Your dinner made my mouth water! Especially the corn. It looks so tender and buttery and delicious. We are anxiously awaiting corn season....It is one of our favorite summer things! We did have corn yesterday, but it didn't get cooked long enough.

Happy Fourth of July and Pink Saturday, both of them!!!

Erin :)

Hope your hand is feeling better. Ouch! Already commented on the meal somewhere, but not the cake carrier yet, which is just beautifully gorgeous. I love the glass topper, just sets everything off, doesn't it?
